Hwang Me Ri, nicknamed Merry, dreams of becoming a musician as she works as a street vendor. Cheerful and optimistic despite the drudgery of her life, she works hard, and nothing disturbs her until Kang Dae Gu, a poor novelist, moves into her neighborhood.
